Wookiee 1 - Servers 0

Altho they did fight back... I've got a decent gouge out of my inner right arm, my left knee was busted open pretty good (and is going to bruise hard core), and my left shoulder gave out after doing the "server clean and jerk" for the umpteenth time.

Otherwise the server stuff went off with out as much of a hitch as could possibly happen with something of this magnitude.

There was a problem with one of the servers, but that was just one of those fixes that "took time" not.

I think we had a bad ass group of people up there that worked there arses off to get stuff done. I don't think it would have gone anywhere near as smoothly if we didn't have everyone up there that we did.

So I'd like to personally thank everyone that was up there today. We kicked ass.

Plus they all had fun laughing at me as I fell apart more and more as the day went on. =)

Here's to not having to do that again anytime in the next two and a half years. *takes some Tylenol PM and some water and goes to crash*

So it begins... aka Fun with hardware.

Man I'm awake way to early...

Anywho, today we go have fun with a lot of servers ala one of those sliding picture games where there's one slot open and you have to re-arrange everything to get the picture to show up properly.

It makes sense, though. Server farms tend to be a bit organic, even with the best laid plans of mice and men. It's been what... two and a half years? Now's a good as time as any to do the equivilent of a DnR (especially with regards to our next box expansion) with the physical server configuration in the racks.

All I know is that I'm definitly not touching the router... It's been running rock solid and I'll mess with it on a different day when we're not touching pretty much every single other piece of hardware we have up there.

Heh.

And yes... i'm half delirious being awake this early. It is very, very surreal.

It actually tastes really, really good. I was very surprised.

Bad Cheesecake

At least that's what I'm attributing my wellness, or lack thereof, to today as it was the last thing I ate yesterday and got violently sick a few hours afterwards.

Granted, the food at Champps is just weird to begin with. It seems like normal food at first, but then you realize that it's slightly left of normal.

Like their Pad Thai... was more of a noodle/stew/soup sort of thing then any sort of Pad Thai I'd ever had.

Oh well... I'm just going to decline any offers to go to champs anymore...
