Lunar Eclipse

Well, I got to see the moon go from being REALLY bright (so bright that I was casting a pretty well defined shadow on my yard when it's supposed to be pitch black out) to a really cool red/orange color...

...then the clouds rolled in... booo.

One thing's for sure... I need a gd tripod... I thought the pics I took were much better then how they turned out.

They looked great on that little 2 inch lcd viewer thing! \o/

Anywho... Here's the best pick of the bunch, imo... Lemme know what you think.

...but I play a doctor on the web!

I know some people that really need this.

Heck... lobotomy in a bag would rock for some of the freaky people that I know.

Hi Heep! Hi Dag!

Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars Part 2

Not everyone that might read this has seen the mini-series yet, so I'll not put much in the way of spoilers here...

but WOW... That certainly was the right way to end the series while keeping it in such a way that future stories can be told in that universe.

I was very sad to see a certain character die, but that character went out very fitting I would have to say.

I also like the fact that they explained why Peacekeepers are called Peacekeepers and where they came from... very telling.

It was also obvious that certain things were left out/skipped over/not as polished as they could have been in tying off all the loose ends... But come on, they were having to fit at least a half a season's amount of content into 4 hours. I think they did a great job with it.

Or I should say... a frelling great job!

Farscape: Peacekeeper Wars

Wow.

It's amazing how much you forget how much you like something until you see it again.

It was like riding a bike all over... The mini picked right up where the series left off and it did it with a running start.

So far so good. I like what's going on.

Good amount of humor, good amount of violence, good amount of things being blown up...

And a good amount of "frell". =)

The Real Death of Superman

Christopher Reeve... the man that many people see in their minds when they think of Superman died this morning.

I won't go into all the trite stuff like "at least he's not in any pain anymore" and "he's now able to move again"...

My big hope is that his foundation is able to continue where he left off. Having someone as high profile, and with as much money, as Reeve really helped push spinal cord injuries into the spotlight.

They mention in the above linked article that even Sen. Kerry mentioned Reeve during the last debate when talking about stem cell research.

His accident was a tragedy... but it opened the eyes of a lot of people for a lot of different things.

Plus, it showed everyone exactly how much of a "super" man he really was.

You will be missed.

UPDATE: Got THIS link from a co-worker. Very fitting I think. I always liked that scene, too.

Donkey Konga... best game ever?

Well okay... not quite the best game EVER, but I havn't had a game be this much fun outside of the box in quite a long time.

Of course... it's got two things going for it for me...

1) You beat on a pair of bongos... Having been a drummer I'm always about beating on things...

2) Their music selection is actually quite humorous. From the default nintendo songs (Mario, Zelda [which is hard.. omg], Pokemon, etc) to other great hits such as "Whip It', "We Will Rock You", and "Rock Lobster".

You know it's good music when you're singing along and you mess up cause you're moving too much to the music. =)

Most of the songs are fully licensed versions with the original singers... but some, like Rock Lobster, don't have the original singers. So it's still good, but not quite as good as it *could* be.

The mini-games you have to unlock seem ass so far... and the extra bongo sounds you unlock seem more annoying then good. About the only things that seem worth unlocking are the songs in the hardest difficulty level. It'll be a while till I need those, so that's not a problem.

I can't wait to play multi-player! Going to be so much fun.
