whatisbeautiful?

This is a pretty trippy site.

By using genetic algorithms that determine the characteristics of random faces he creates a pool of "near human" almost cutouts that you vote against on how you rate each face. The server then every so often calculates up the scores and generates a new set of faces using the highest ranked faces from the previous generation. The higher the generation the closer to "ideal" supposedly it is.

Only problem with that is if there isn't enough of a cross section of people voting before the pool of faces gets too narrow. But I'll certainly be interested to see how this turns out.

Happy T-Day!

Ah... T-Day! The day that worships gluttony... and I'm ALLLLL for it. =)

Now if you'll excuse me I need to finish getting ready for the T-Day festivities that I'm having here at my place. From the sounds of it we're going to have MORE then enough food.

Ahhhh.... leftovers. =)

May all of you and yours be safe this holiday weekend... don't forget to have a *wonderful* time!

Costco Arcade Legends Cocktail Table Arcade Game

I've always wanted an arcade game wherever I've lived. My problem is that I never have been able to pick just one, or two, or... well you see my problem.

There's always the MAME cabinet option, but I'm too lazy to actually build one. If I knew of one that was commercially available I'd certainly take a look at it.

In the meantime it looks like Cosco is selling an arcade system with 25 classic games in it. Costco Arcade Legends Cocktail Table Arcade Game

Fairly pricy, but still really cool.

Ohio State vs. Michigan humor

Got this from my Dad. Had me in stitches. There is always good humor/smack talking floating around this time of year as the game is on this weekend.

GO BUCKS!!!

--------------------
It is late in the OSU-Michigan game on an overcast day.
Michigan has the ball on the OSU 3, with 2 seconds left, and down 14-10.
There is time for one more play.

Lloyd Carr calls timeout.
As the team is coming to the sideline, Lloyd looks to the heavens and says,
"God - I've been a good man.
A churchgoing man.
I've tried to do what's right and I've never asked you for anything.
But, this is a big game and if I could get a little guidance, I would be forever grateful".

The clouds part, sun shines on Lloyd and he hears a voice bellow
"I Right 39 Pitch Trap".

Lloyd can't believe it!
God himself gave him the play!
It'll work for sure.

The team comes to the sideline and Lloyd excitedly gives them the play.
The timeout ends and the teams come back on the field.
Lloyd can barely contain his excitement - he's going to win.

Play resumes and the ball is snapped.
The Michigan QB pitches to the back.
For a split second, there's a hole - which is quickly filled by AJ Hawk,
who tackles the Michigan back short of the goal line.

Time expires and Ohio State players storm the field to celebrate.
Lloyd is in shock - he can't believe the play didn't work.

Lloyd looks to the heavens and cries,
"God - why did you call THAT play?"

God looks down, shrugs, turns to his right and says,
"Woody - why did we call that play?"

Eddie Guerrero passed away

Wow... This is quite shocking as I've been getting back into liking Eddie's character these last few weeks. I didn't like the whole feud they were writing for him with Rey Rey. I really liked the angle they were doing these last few weeks between him and Batista.

So, like I said... Quite shocking when I get this bit of news in my email box from the Wrestling 365 newsletter:
We are very sad to report that one of the greatest pro wrestlers of the modern era Eddie Guerrero passed away this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. He was just 38-years-old. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and daughters Kaylie Marie, Shaul and Sherilyn. Authorities have not yet released any information on his death. We hope to have more later today.

Obviously there isn't much information out there about what happened exactly. I'm sure we'll hear more over the coming days. I'm just hoping that his demons didn't catch up with him again. =(

The WWE has a quick page detailing his career over here. It's a good read.

Anywho... I'm going to miss seeing Latino Heat... Regardless if they were writing him as a heal or a babyface he always was able to polarize the audience. Plus... Who's going to drive all the low-riders up to the ring each week now? He was a great techincal wrestler and I'm going to miss seeing his frog splash and charasmatic style in the ring.

NES/Famicom cart playing console...

...WITH wireless controllers. That's just awesome.

Check this thing out.

Kudos to Messiah Entertainment for coming up with this thing.

Yes I know that the hardcore either use their original NES or just play their fav games on their PC/Mac/PSP/Whatever with an emulator. But I personally think something that can handle wireless controller support and play famicom games is pretty darn cool.

Btw, check out their buried coming soon list. Wireless SNES and Atari 2600 controllers. Okay... THAT is wicked.

Amazon, I call a logic flaw!

For those of you that haven't seen this yet today take a gander here.

At first that seems quite impressive, and excessive.

Then next you think "well I'm sure the trekkies will want to buy that."

That's where the logic flaw comes into play. The people that *are* trekkies already purchased the various episodes and movies on DVD. They've had them and have watched them at least thirty times each.

And you can't use the line "well if I had the money to spend in that, I'd certainly get it.." Why? If you *DID* have the money to buy this set, you would have already purchased all the various versions already, too.

So riddle me this. Whom is this set designed for?
