DuPont ™ Self Charging Smoke Alarm

Ok THIS is pretty darn neat.

The statistics for number of injuries/fatalities due to fire/smoke related injuries in the US in homes that have faulty/non-powered smoke alarms is pretty... well... alarming.

I know I'm one of many Americans that forgets to keep my detectors powered up and to make sure to test them every month. Luckily for me there was an option to get a "wired" detector with my ADT alarm system. So at least that's one alarm I don't have to worry about.

But for other parts of the house, I'm seriously going to look into using this device. Assuming I have any spots where it can work with whatever light assembly is already there (which is probably it's biggest failing).

But it's still neat, nonetheless.
