Battlestar Galactica and memories...

This show just gets better and better. For me being a fan of the original series I love to see when the current guys in charge throw us a bone now and again as a homage to that which went first.

Wow... All I've got to say is that I was certainly surprised and blown away tonight. I've always been someone who's been impressed with good use of sound... good music... good sound effects... etc...

So it was certainly a surprise when I started to hear bits and pieces of the original BSG's theme in the later part of the episode. That was enough for me... but no... They went and cranked that song up full volume and even arranged it with some footage of that news reel with the pilots walking down the hallway.

Walking past the lone figure of a man mopping the hallway... a man who had been whistling the same theme just moments before.

This is what it means to be a fan and to be overjoyed by something even as minor as that shows up. Very similar to when Dr. Swan (the character the late Christopher Reeves played) first showed up on Smallville and you heard bits of the original movie Superman theme...

It's something just that simple that unlocks and reconnects you with those memories that you had from an earlier time. I always love it when it's something good and I can whoop and holler over it. =)

I remember when they slipped a bit of the classic Superman theme in Smallville. Most folks wouldn't even notice, but it's a nice tip-of-the-hat to us older fans.

I also thought that was awsome, in both shows.

And Smallville is even managing to slip in some of tghe other heroes... Flash, and maybe next week, Aquaman.
